Dear Parents,
Welcome to February! We have lots of fun planned for this month. Our Field Trip is to Ruth Eckerd Hall to see "Hangin with the Giants" on 2/16.
Valentine's Day we will be having a class party and everyone can bring in cards for their classmates. We will be having a special snack provided by the teachers. This is always a fun friendship day. We also will be having our annual Bring Someone You Love BBQ that day.
School will be closed Monday, Feb. 20th for President's Day. This month we will be learning about flowers and how plants grow, lines and names of triangles. We will continue to study time and money. In Language we are learning about root words and compound words and how blends combined with letters to make prefixes, suffixes and compound words.

Homework We believe school is a partnership between home and school. We do have homework and often the children will have time to start it in class. We also have study hall from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at school. Our homework schedule is as follows: First Grade Monday – IXL Math (on computer) and Language Tuesday – Reading and Spelling Wednesday – IXL Math (on computer) and Language Thursday – Reading and Spelling Spelling tests are given on Fridays VPK and Kindergarten Monday – IXL Math (on computer) and Language Wednesday - IXL Math (on computer) and Language The children will go to our school library every other Wednesday beginning August 31st.
